How to Get Cyprus ResidencyIf you are going to move to Cyprus and open a company or buy a ready-made company, then, in 2023, an investment of at least €300,000 in one of the following categories will give you the ground to apply for an investor visa:

Real estate – a house or apartment at a price of €300,000 plus VAT. You are allowed to purchase two or more objects where the price is summed up to.

Purchasing of commercial real estate also provides a visa investor to Cyprus: offices, shops, hotels, or related objects. Investment of the share capital of a Cyprus company by buying its shares or opening a new Cyprus company with a contribution to the authorized capital. The firm should be established and conduct its activities within the Republic of Cyprus and be physically present there as well as employ at least five people.

Investment in the units of the Cyprus investment firm opened in the form of AIF, AIFLNP, RAIF.

Additional requirements for an applicant for an investor visa on the island of Cyprus

The main requirements of the Cyprus investment programme include among others when opening a company:

Income – at least €30,000 per year + €5,000 for each family member (dependants) – €8,000 for each parent on the dependents of the applicant and/or his spouse. Incomes include wages, pensions, dividends, fixed deposits, rent income. The source of profit depends on the investment object: only from foreign sources for real estate investments, from any other countries, including Cyprus when opening a firm and a local Cyprus company.

The list of candidates for an investor visa in Cyprus: the investor himself, his spouse, and children under 18 years, unmarried children, students from 18 to 25 years, parents.

Amount of investment having the right to a residence permit: at least 300,000 euros.

Requirements for the company established in Cyprus: real physical presence, staff of 5 people.

Investor visa in Cyprus

The standard set of documents, without which an investor visa in Cyprus is impossible to obtain, includes: a copy of a passport; marriage certificate; birth certificates of children; certificate of criminal record from the country of residence; documents confirming annual income from abroad; documents confirming that the investment capital came to Cyprus from abroad; if parents/legal parents apply – proof of kinship; if 18-25 year olds apply – proof of university education.

All official documents should be translated into English and have an apostille or be certified by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Documents confirming the investments:

  • Real Estate: Contract of sale, proof of payment of at least €200,000.
  • A firm in Cyprus, its opening, or acquisition of shares: a share purchase agreement, shareholders’ certificate and registration, business profile, Social insurance documents to confirm the employees of the company.
  • Investments in units: AIF, AIFLNP, RAIF: headings or other evidence of acquired units.

The period of consideration of the application is from 2 months and after a positive response, the applicant must be in the country within 1 month for the final signature.
